Whatever the original cause of your insomnia, the result is that you now still have insomnia. If you have been suffering for longer than 3 months, it is now another problem in itself as it is a learned behaviour that requires therapy to treat. We treat the now chronic insomnia. Despite the original cause being the trigger when your insomnia started, it cannot be held responsible for it now.
Knowing and understanding this can be a bit of a breakthrough moment for many and hopefully can help reduce your anxiety surrounding your sleep.
