When you're filling out your sleep diary, you might be wondering how you could possibly be as accurate as you think you need to be. But actually, we know that even your approximations will be about right. Don't worry if you don't think you're being accurate on your sleep diaries - filling something out is better than doing nothing.
Don't look at the clock. It might be that you want to look at your clock when you're trying to work out when you woke up and how long you were awake for, but you actually don't need to know what times you woke up in the night. We just need to know roughly how many times and how many minutes you were awake for. We would rather you do this on some sort of approximation than trying to be accurate. Looking at clocks only makes us worry more about sleep.
Always remember to be consistent with your wake up time and rise time!
